Collide

Emotions are complex and ever-changing, especially when it comes to those we love. We can feel a deep connection and bond with someone, but at the same time, they have the power to push our buttons and elicit strong emotions. This dichotomy is the inspiration behind my latest abstract painting titled "Collide."

In creating this piece, I wanted to capture the essence of conflicting emotions colliding within us. The soft, flowing subtle brushstrokes represent the love and affection we feel towards a person, while the harsh, bold strokes symbolize the anger and frustration that can arise when they upset us. The colors blend and clash, creating a beautiful yet chaotic fusion of emotions.

Embracing the softening of these colliding emotions is a powerful practice. It allows us to acknowledge and accept the full range of feelings we experience towards our loved ones, rather than suppressing or denying them. By embracing the complexity of our emotions, we can begin to understand and navigate these relationships with greater compassion and empathy.

When someone we love pisses us off, it can be easy to let anger and resentment take over. But by softening our responses and allowing for a gentle collision of emotions, we open ourselves up to greater understanding and connection. We can approach these moments with a sense of openness and vulnerability, allowing for growth and healing in our relationships.

"Collide" serves as a reminder to embrace the messy and beautiful complexity of our emotions towards those we love. It encourages us to soften our reactions and lean into the collision of conflicting feelings, ultimately leading to deeper understanding and connection. Embracing the full spectrum of emotions allows us to navigate relationships with grace and authenticity, creating a more harmonious and fulfilling bond with our loved ones.
